Kojima Qualified to give Expert Evidence - Jamieson v. Loureiro, 2008 BCSC 998 (CanLII)

[114] The defendant challenged Mr. Kojima's qualifications to give expert opinion evidence in relation to the integrity of computer-retained data and the use of wiping software. I reject this, and find that Mr. Kojima is so qualified. http://www.canlii.org/eliisa/highlight.do?text=Kojima&language=en&searchTitle=Search+all+CanLII+Databases&path=/en/bc/bcsc/doc/2008/2008bcsc998/2008bcsc998.html

Expert Evidence: Court of Queens Bench Alberta

CCS Corporation v. Secure Energy Services Inc., 2009 ABQB 275 (CanLII) [ 81 ] Gabriel Kojima , a Certified Forensic Examiner, was retained by the Secure Defendants to provide assistance in relation to electronic evidence. He was asked to look at Higham’s home and office computers in relation to these e-mails. Kojima confirmed that they were deleted; however, he could not say when. He also deposed that there was no evidence on these computers that the e-mails were ever opened. The Plaintiff points out that Higham’s Shaw account was not reviewed and that these e-mails could have been downloaded on any computer. http://www.canlii.org/eliisa/highlight.do?text=Gabriel+Kojima&language=en&searchTitle=Search+all+CanLII+Databases&path=/en/ab/abqb/doc/2009/2009abqb275/2009abqb275.html

Upon arrival it was determined that three males had threatened and assaulted a number of staff at this premise. It was immediately apparent that these males were Hell's Angels, known to be hostile towards Police and often armed. Three of our officers immediately became involved in a violent struggle with two of the suspects. During this fight a loaded handgun fell to the ground from one of the suspect's waistband. At the same time Constables Kojima and Montague identified a third suspect. As the suspect was approached he fled and in the process pulled a second loaded handgun. You pursued and collectively subdued this party. Given their anti-police nature, and their propensity for violence invol...
